The
vision of the United Muslim Women Association is:
To provide Australian Muslim women with the opportunities to enable them to actively participate in and contribute to Australia's culturally and religiously diverse society.
At
the heart of the United Muslim Women Association is a commitment to fairness,
equality and justice in all our interactions and activities that support
Muslim women.
Goal 4 To provide information, education and training on Islamic Practices and beliefs with a view to correct misinformation and misconceptions about Muslim women. We will achieve our goals by: Working in
partnership with all groups and service providers who are providing programs
and services.
This is a fundamental Islamic belief that is inherent in all Islamic beliefs and practices. Islam recognizes the development individual identify and promotes the development of healthy individuals on the basis of conduct and piety. Superiority is not measured on the basis of ones gender, race, colour etc but on their ability to be just and promote good will. Our philosophy focuses on providing Muslim women with the full opportunities to enable them to develop as full individuals with rights and responsibilities as a member of society. We believe that every woman has the right to access diverse services to enable them to contribute effectively within the family and the community. It is everybody's responsibility to ensure that women and other members of our community are provided with the means and ways of achieving these rights so that they can make the maximum contribution. In order to fulfill our role of supporting, nurturing and responding to gaps in services delivery, we will continue to promote basic human rights and social justice through close partnerships as a way of remedy for addressing inequities and injustice.
