SISTERHOOD
Poem from camp role play on Backbiting by Eman Dandan

Why do you speak those lies?
Causing the tears my eyes cry
You create in me such a fear
That I push away all those who are near

With a knife you begin to slash
Causing all my hopes to crash
You talk and talk, why do you say
Those words that destroy, 'til I wither away?

Your tongue, in my skin slit a welt
You never knew the pain I felt
You inflicted such wounds with that blade
Forget you of the ghibah Allah forbade?

You sucked away with viciousness
Left me in a state of hollowness
In Allah I thought you did believe
But only slander from you did I receive

Why is there such a hatred in your heart?
Abusing others, ripping them apart
Where did your love of Allah go?
Beneath the facade-is it there below?

Beneath the dirt one day you will lay
Until the arrival of Judgement Day
You fear the amount of sins that you did earn
On that day-to whom will you turn?
